About the project
The Language project is a series of minimalist abstract expressions. Each print is a monotype with symbols in a kind of minimalist abstract expressions. Looking and listening for the second time, the experience may be completely different. Language is a living thing and is affected by the context and the individual.
The project ‘Language a manner of speaking’ is a series of monotypes such as ‘Song of Life’ and ‘Language of the Soul’. ‘Language a manner of speaking’ is a graphical series of non-figurative languages. Each print is a monotype with symbols in a kind of minimalist abstract expressions. You never find the same expression twice. The series is partly printed on 106cm x 78cm paper with 96 symbols. Another part of the series is printed on fabric in different sizes.
All works in the series are monotypes and all symbols in the whole series are unique, the symbols are one by one made by hand on a graphical plate. If you look at the different non-figurative symbols, you can sometimes recognize a figure. But if you look again, or another day, you might discover something completely different.
